'Function Generator', audio and video by Jarryd Lowder, performance by Julie Fotheringham, April 2, 2008.

'Function Generator' was shot using a stationary surveillance camera connected to a function generator so that changes in the video image cause the pitch of the audio to change; the brighter the image, the higher the sound, the darker the image, the lower the sound. With my dark clothing and hair against a white background, I could affect the pitch of the sound with my movement. I could hear the sound I was making and let that be the task of my movement. With a minimal amount of editing, this is the result of one night's experiment. Special thanks to Jarryd Lowder.
