artistic intention:

In my work, I am interested in creating a situation in which the viewer is affected, whether it's emotional, physical or intellectual. I want the viewer to experience something. It is my intention to provide a surface on which the audience paints its own response. I am interested in elements which are independent of literal interpretation. Although familiar images appear, they are not representations of things. They are implements of thought and emotion that derive through the viewer's imagination. Such images are suggested by movement, light, objects, sound and video-and are humanized by my physical body experiencing pleasure, pain, tension, exhaustion and relief.

now:

I'm exploring connections between movement and other media, video and sound, in an ongoing collaboration with video artist and musician Jarryd Lowder.
